skin loves fever

I didn’t know where I came
from or where I was
going.
I was lost.
I used to sit
in strange doorways
for hours,
not thinking
not moving
until I was asked to move.

I don’t mean that I was an
idiot or a
fool.
what I mean is that
I was
uninterested.

I didn’t care if you intended
to kill me.
I wouldn’t stop you.”

— Charles Bukowski, where was I?

  1. Hey Kyoko

Ought to remove “of sorts”. Definitely an artist. I love the painting I opened my video Kyoko perfect daydream with. And the woman drawing against newspaper

Hope to be around soon. Avoiding work means little money to play and socialize.

  2. I am new to skin loves fever, and I must say I am a fan! I found myself so moved and engaged in every post, that I binge read the last three years, in reverse chronological order.

Kyoko’s style is visceral, brave, and honest. She delivers the emotional truth to the reader, in a sometimes jarring fashion, while keeping some room for optimism and hope. Like a slap in the face, with a kiss right after.

    Thank you Kyoko Cole!
I look forward to following your intriguing journey.

  3. Thanks for following the Fountain. I appreciate your interest in a subject that not many people want to talk about. You have a great blog here, I love your photography. Keep up the good work.

  4. Went to your Facebook page first. Thanks for looking in on my online writing workshop, and for choosing to follow my work. A quick scan here tells me you are a serious artist. Do you illustrate? My Stinky character, from the children’s book Stinky and the Night Mare, will appear in several more books — as long as I can last.

  5. Kyoko!

Thank you for following TOWWIOW. What took you to Los Angeles? What do you do outside of poetry and photography (if the photos on your blog are ones that you’ve taken). Always try to engage with my readership as much as they’ll engage back.

    Look forward to conversation.

    Best,
